This month, I’m trying harder to fill my content with posts from the Bloggy Moms dares. The first thought that came to mind when reading today’s topic was all of the people from my past who are not who I thought they were. Cliché, obviously, but there are a few people I’ve been really close with who turned out to be not who I thought they were.
I’m going to be pretty vague because I don’t want to pinpoint anyone, but there are a lot of common themes. A lot of people, come to find out, are only friends when it was convenient. If circumstances change (someone gets a boyfriend or girlfriend, gets married, has a kid, goes to college and etc…) then that person is no longer there.
I admit that with the popularity of social networking, I’m not as good with keeping in touch with some people, but social media has kept me connected and aware of what’s going on in their lives, and vice versa. Sometimes people think I over-share, which I agree, but we don’t live near any of our friends and family, so it’s important that I share a lot of photos (more on Instagram than Facbeook) and life happenings—it’s just easier this day in age.
Rather than go on and on about all the wrong doings of people in my past, I’ll leave you with this:
True friends stay friends no matter what, and go through thick and thin with each other.
I’d rather have a few friends fulltime than a lot of friends part time.
