It has been 17 days since I left Virginia. I have been in Michigan for 12 days, and I spent 3 days in Chicago.
From Foodservice Social Media Universe to the pumpkin patch and around my childhood stomping grounds, it's time to go back to Virginia.
Everyone I bump into has asked me why I'm in Michigan or why I'm still in Michigan, because they know I'm not the biggest fan. Of course I loved California more than Michigan, and when I lived in Michigan I couldn't wait to leave. Virginia is that bad. My husband and dogs are there, but my dogs have turned into cats, they won't go outside because it's so hot, and my husband is always at work. No point of being there.
I'm still paying for daycare in Virginia and that's where my home is, so I guess we'll go back now. Brady misses his daddy. The great thing about working remotely is that I've been able to still work while in Michigan, and one reason why we are driving back on a weekend and not two days in the middle of the week again. Too many emails to catch up on.
I've seen some of my favorite people, I've bumped into people I don't care to ever see again, and though I was here for a couple of weeks, there wasn't enough time to see some of the people I really wanted to see, like Loni. If only Indiana was on the way back to Virginia.
It's going to be a long, 15+ hour trek back to hell, especially going the speed limit. (I got a speeding ticket 4 hours into the trip on the way to Michigan). Plenty of Baby Einstein and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse videos for Brady and a lot of Halestorm, Avenged Sevenfold, Thousand Foot Krutch and In This Moment for me.
Adios, Pure Michigan. Hello, Disgusting Virginia Beach.
