subscription boxes - where to start

July 10, 2012
Monthly subscription boxes are a hot trend ranging from boxes full of samples to clothing and food. Where do you start? How do you know which box to try? That's where I come in. Over the past few months, I've reviewed a variety of boxes. Read a little about each one below and click through to read the entire review.
I am not affiliated with subscriptionboxes.com, but it's a great place to go to read more reviews

I am not including logos, because our eyes are drawn to certain shapes, fonts and colors. While all of the brands have great, unique logos, I want you to read about them first and then decide if you're interested.

Kara's Way focuses on eco-friendly beauty and body care products. This is great for anyone who is interested in replacing regular makeup or skincare with greener alternatives, but aren't sure where to start. $15 ★★★★

Hammock Pack For $25 per month, you'll receive 5-6 artisan items including handcrafted food, accessories, house ware and beauty supplies.

Wittle Bee a kids clothing subscription service for sizes 0-5T. For $39.99 a month, you'll receive up to 8 pieces of clothing in each box.

Green Kid Crafts sends three earth-friendly, monthly projects that spark creativity and cultivate respect and love for the environment. Suitable for kids ages 3-8. $19.95

Beauty Fix Beautyfix offers a wide array of products every season (quarterly). No samples, just deluxe and full size products. $49.99 for $400 worth of products.

Babba Box is an activity box filled with educational kids crafts for $29.95 per month.

New Beauty Test Tube Exclusive products delivered every three months. $29.95 per quarter

Jolly Box is a care package service for college students and military, though I think anyone would enjoy a care package, even if they are not in college or the military. $30 per month $10 off with code FIRST10.

Birch Box
Women: receive a box of 4-5 deluxe beauty samples for $10. I subscribed for a couple of months and received tiny samples, not like the sample sizes shown in all of their photos.

Men: receive deluxe grooming and lifestyle samples for $20. Samples? My husband has been receiving awesome full-size products. I cancelled my box and am enjoying his.

What boxes are you interested in? Which ones do you love? I'm always looking for the next best thing.

  1. Have you tried the BarkBox (the one for dogs)? That's the one I keep thinking about trying out! Let me know if you give that one a shot!
