better than pottery barn kids - a reveal

July 23, 2012

We moved to Virginia Beach a few months ago, and I've been motivated to decorate and finish every room, except Brady's. I guess I should say that I'm the most motivated to do his room, but I just hadn't decided what I wanted it to look like. We are only here for a couple of years, so I'm not going to make it a kid's dream room, but it will be fun nevertheless.

Travis wanted a sports room. Brady is 17 months, for the work I would put into a sports room, he wouldn't appreciate it. I've always said I don't like theme rooms and animals, but when I stumbled up on this quilt from Pottery Barn Kids, I had to have it. Though, I didn't want it for $100.

I sat and thought about it for a while, since it is backordered until August. I mentioned it over dinner one night at our friends' house and Kristen mentioned that she could probably make it. Duh why do I always forget that Kristen quilts?

I told her about the vinyl wall decal I had already purchased and she said she could use it as a stencil. I warned her that it was huge.

Here is the large, beautiful and perfect finished product!

We're painting Brady's room this weekend (I still have to make final decisions) and hope to have a full reveal up next week. In the meantime, check out my inspiration board on Pinterest .

I even sent Loni from Baby P Makes Three her way and I've seen the progress of baby #2's quilt!

If you're not sure what bedding to buy or don't see anything you like. Ask Kristen to make you a quilt, sheets and bed skirt (or anything else you can imagine) for your little one, or yourself!

Thanks, Kristen!

  7. I sent a message. I don't know if it went through. Do you know what it would cost for a toddler size quilt & twin size quilt?
