jelly bean 18 weeks 5 days • face shot
Snips & snails and puppy dog tails, that's what boys are made of (apparently). Coincidentally, that's what my side feels like it's made of today. Well I'm not sure what snips are and why snails and puppy dog tails would be in my lower abdomen, but as soon as I pulled up to the office and got out of my car, I didn't feel right. The pain I felt in my lower right abdomen felt 10x worse than when ovarian cysts rupture (you're welcome for the visual).

I called my OBGYN and after a ridiculous conversation and me stating that this is my first child and I don't know if it's normal pain or if it's an emergency-hence why I was calling- the receptionist finally gave in and said ''FINE come in at 2." Well fine then, lady, I'll be in at 2. This was after she told me to drink juice and lie down, I told her I couldn't because I was at work and she was perplexed. "Excuse me, Ralph, I'm just going to lie on the floor for a while, could you grab me some juice?" I don't think so.

At 18 weeks and 5 days mister jelly bean is doing well and is clearly still a boy, we don't have to worry about that changing now. I, as well, am doing fine, I am sore and uncomfortable and not enjoying this stabbing pain, but turns out, it's normal. Better safe than sorry.
What I'm experiencing is round ligament pain
"The round ligaments surround your uterus in your pelvis. As your uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments stretch and thicken to accommodate and support it. These changes can occasionally cause pain on one or both sides of your abdomen.

You may feel the pain starting from deep inside your groin, moving upward and outward on either side to the top of your hips. The pain is internal, but if you were to trace it on your skin, it would follow the bikini line on a very high-cut bathing suit."
Doctor's orders are to lie low and relax for the next few days. I definitely don't want to overdo it and cause any problems before I had to New York City this weekend for mark. mentor training (what I currently do, but we are training new mentors and learning some new things!) With Travis still gone, I'm going to have to train Goose and Maverick to vacuum and do the laundry. Looks like the vacuuming and laundry aren't getting done.

As usual, we are still debating on names for our son and looking for the perfect bedding.

happy 36th anniversary mom & dad!
